SummaCare COBRA Notification Services Vendor Change Effective January 1
11-21-2024
SummaCare has been providing complementary COBRA notification/administration services, in conjunction with HealthEquity, to our larger (20+ enrolled contracts) Commercial fully insured employer groups (non-MEWA) for many years. Effective January 1, 2025, they will be converting those services over to MyCobraPlan – A Division of Navia Benefit Solutions. Navia is a national, consumer-directed benefit provider serving 10,000-plus employers across all 50 states.
A letter is being sent to all impacted employer groups. Complimentary notification services will be provided for the SummaCare medical line of business. Other lines of business, such as ancillary dental, vision, etc., can be added for an additional cost to the group which can be arranged directly with MyCobraPlan. Groups are being given the option to continue with MyCobraPlan or discontinue if they no longer offer COBRA or have another COBRA vendor.
SummaCare’s online employer portal, Plan Central, will be the exclusive method they will use to make all future employee additions, changes, and deletions that will trigger whether a terminated employee receives a COBRA Election Notice letter or not. You can also make enrollment changes on your client’s behalf in SummaCare’s broker portal, Broker Central.
